It has been rightly said that Library is the storehouse of knowledge. The library facilitates intellectual growth and creativeness by developing collections, providing access to information resources, teaching the effective use of information resources, and offering research assistance.

The Library of G.C.W Bhagwati Nagar is a resource centre for all stakeholders like Students and Faculty members. It has vast collection of Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Reference books, books on Competitive exams, novels, and books related to various subject being offered by the College as per curriculum. Library of G.C.W Bhagwati Nagar came inception in the year 2019 with a collection of 518 books. Today the total number of books in the library sums up to 1,546 covering a wide variety of collection. Library offer Wi-Fi Facility to all the users. Library facilitates Reference Service and Reprographic Services to students as well as faculty members.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE LIBRARY

  • The College Library is open for students and staff during the college hours on all working days.

  • Library Card is compulsory for getting access to Library.

  • Teaching faculty shall be permitted to borrow ten books at a time for maximum period of one month. n case of failure to return the same within the prescribed time, they shall be required to deposit Rs.2/- per book per day.

  • Members of the College staff or the establishment at the time of leaving the College or transfer, retirement or otherwise shall return all the books borrowed by them before the LPC or "No Demand" certificate is issued in her favour.

  • Students shall be permitted to borrow two books for maximum period of fifteen days. If a student fails to return the same within the prescribed period, overdue charges/fine @ Rs.1/- per day/per book shall be recoverable from the students for the first 15 days and after Rs.2/-per day.

  • At the end of 15 days books can be renewed if there are no demands for them by other students. Borrower must bring the books physically to the library for renewal. Such a renewal will be done for a maximum of 2 times. For further borrowing, there should be at least 15 days gap.

  • If a borrowed book is lost, torn or damaged, the student responsible for it will be liable to replace it or pay double the cost of the book.

  • Students must compulsorily return the books at the end of the semester examinations.

  • Books marked as 'Reference' will not be issued. Students have made use of the reference books in the library only.

  • Students are held responsible for all books issued on their names until the books are returned by them. A student who loses or damages her Identity card shall make a written report to the Office of the College and she will be issued a duplicate Identity Card after paying admissible fine. Member shall be held responsible for any misuse of lost or damaged Identity Card.

  • No book should be taken out of the library without proper borrowing.

  • Students free from lecture work may visit the library during college hours. No talking or disturbance of any kind is allowed in the library. Any infringement of rules shall incur punishment /fine.

  • The library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.

  • Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises. All users are requested to keep their mobiles in silent mode.

  • Sleeping, Smoking, Chatting, Eating etc. are strictly prohibited in the library.
